Diverticulosis at young age?
-
Hey everyone. First time here. I was diagnosed preliminarily in December with acute diverticulitis when I went to the ER (doctor thought it was either my appendix or gall bladder and was completely shocked to find out I had it bc I’m only 20 years old). Also had very high WBC so CT and blood tests confirm the diagnosis of diverticulitis. Anyways, went to a great GI doctor and had a colonoscopy scheduled 6 weeks after I had healed and finished my antibiotics. So I had the colonoscopy done last week. Diagnosis states “diverticulosis in ascending and sigmoid colon” as well as the fact that I had 2 polyps (which were removed). I have a follow up appt in 2 weeks and am now supposed to be on a high fiber diet.
Had anyone else been diagnosed at a young age and had any tips on how to keep up with your health? Is it riskier and more detrimental to have it at such a young age? I’m a full time student so I have no idea how to even start incorporating a high fiber diet. I was even considering going Keto. Any feedback is appreciated!!

I am 28 now, diagnosed at 21. If you are in pain, drink chicken bone broth and water. Antibiotics will be necessary if intense pain in lower left side. Different for other people though. I have had flair ups for years. Sometimes once a year, and more frequent this past year. I am now finally understanding the importance of the lifestyle change that is necessary to keep yourself healthy. Once you’re not in pain from a flair up, start adding eggs into your diet. I enjoy them hard boiled and it’s easier to prep for a couple days. Then I eat lots of leafy greens like kale or spinach. Sometimes cooking them with onions, tomatoes or mushrooms. I can really eat anything so I don’t care much for the flavor, just as long as I eat lots of veggies. I stay away from fruits unless they are high in water, like melons, pineapples, and watermelon. All that with grilled/ baked chicken and fish, you’ll be fine. Hydration is also key. Stay away from the booze as much as possible. Some people have trigger foods. Mine are red meat, peppers, and just overeating/ dehydration.

In fact, facing diverticulitis at such a young age is a terrible experience, because if you do not start treatment in time, which in addition should be very accurate and correct, so as not to make the situation worse, you can expect terrible consequences that may follow you for life. In order to prevent this from happening, you may want to consider this treatment for diverticulosis.
Because it is based on the aloe vera plant, it is completely natural and has no side effects. You can also read reviews from other people about this remedy https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/aloeride.com
I hope my answer will help you to heal. Good luck on this difficult journey!
