I Did These Mobile App Development Mistakes & I Was SCREWED
-
Doing something first time teaches a lot of lessons but I don't want you to learn by your own loss rather I want you to correct yourself by my experience in mobile application development. I had broken this story of mobile application development in two parts and this is the first part of the series.
That day I was sipping my favorite cappuccino and suddenly a mobile application idea stroked in my mind. I immediately start working on that app idea. I called my colleagues, coded the back-end, designed the front end and in a few weeks my application was ready to be launched. Again without wasting any time on additional garnishing; I submitted my application to the App stores.
At the starting weeks; the app was downloaded by a few users but as the time passed; MY APPLICATION WAS NOWHERE. So without wasting any further time on the concept; I dropped this project and titled that as ‘A Bad Dream’.
So what I did wrong? Are you not doing the same? Where did I lack? Isn’t this a matter of bad luck? Is Cappuccino a bad luck charm for me?
Wake Up PAL! Let’s face the truth. I DID A LOT OF WRONG. Confused? In the later section of my blog for mobile application developers; I am going to tell the main reasons or mistakes which every newbie app developers commits.First Mistake: Coding Immediately
I accept that I was wrong but I am followed by thousand and millions of other app developers. As soon as we get an idea; we start working directly on the coding section and it is undoubtedly a blunder. Whenever you get an app idea; you must first design a rough sketch of the overall final product and must study for the other factors like competition in the niche, potential users, overall cost and lot more but not the code.
Second Mistake: Promoting the Application after the Launch
We all had heard about the popular saying ‘First impression is the last impression’. If you are promoting your application after the launch then it simply means that you don’t want the benefit of initial thrust provided by the app stores via ‘new release’ list. If people had heard about your app prior to the launch; then they will surely give it a shot when they will see the app in the latest arrivals.
Third Mistake: Caring Only For the Big Bumps
This is the most common mobile app development mistake committed by both newbie and experienced app developers. we all care about the major aspects of development process like Technology, platform, Coding and Interface but we rarely give time to small aspects like icons, fonts, App description, and a lot more.
So if you want to make a successful app; do brilliant in every aspect of app development process.
Conclusion
I hope that you will learn from these mistakes and will surely avoid them in your project. Keep exploring Appschopper for more information & assistance in the field of mobile application development.Related Resources:

So only these three mistakes were responsible to make my application story a rough phase? No; they are actually followed by a few more and I will surely like to alter those painful points today.
Fourth Mistake: Project Plans Are! WHAT?
Let’s accept the fact that when we think about planning; we actually think about gossiping, sharing coffee and an entertaining time pass. During the development phase of my application; I cared about everything except planning and the result was no need to say; Horrible.
So if you don’t want to track my path; always make a app plan. You must discuss and plan about the aspects like advertisement of the app, how the app will be marketed, from where the generated revenue will be maximum and many more.
Fifth Mistake: No Communication with the Users
“Just make the users download the app once and then leave them at their own” sounds so rude right? But most of the mobile application developers commit this offence. We just care about the total no. of downloads but never about the feedback of the user.
If you want to make your application liked by millions of users then you will have to correct it hundreds of times according to the feedback of those users.
Sixth Mistake: No Downloads: No Updates
Of course it is the human nature that we can’t give our 100% input if we are not getting any output. I too followed this theory and rest is in peace. As an application developer you can’t expect the application to be downloaded by millions of users in its initial months.
So that doesn’t mean that if you the digits of your app download is not high than you will declare it as dead. Even if you are not getting any response; you must change your promotional strategy and in many case an update works as a catalyst.
Conclusion
I hope that you would have learned some important aspects of mobile application development from my experience. You must take care of all these points if you want a successful application in your portfolio. For more important resources and knowledge capsule about the concept; Keep tracking Appschopper.
