Sympathy for the Ukrainian people and criticism of the Russian invasion continues to come from the world of football. The Real Madrid duo , Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, also spoke about the current situation in Eastern Europe.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine is still ongoing. Much of the world is shocked by what is happening in Eastern Europe, where Russia is launching an unprovoked attack on Ukraine.
Many are trying to stop Russia's action, including in the world of football. For example, UEFA, which decided to move the Champions League final, terminated its sponsorship partnership with Russian company Gazprom.
Even Spain's La Liga displayed a " No War " banner on all things game-related over the past weekend, and a number of football stars started talking about the current situation, including Real Madrid duo Toni Kroos and LukaModric.
Real Madrid star Toni Kroos is one of them. The German midfielder took to his Twitter to make a bold statement after Real Madrid's win over Rayo Vallecano.
"An important win, however, you saw once again how unimportant football is," wrote ToniKroos.
"I would never have believed that such a thing was still possible today. My thoughts are with all the innocent victims of this war and those who are currently living in great fear," continued the Real Madrid midfielder.
