I am answering only because yesterday there was a rare case when I had leftover waffle dough in the refrigerator. Last weekend I made a batch for my children.
I also had boneless chicken thighs that we didn't get to.
Now, I don't know if you (the reader) know, but in the southeastern United States, fried chicken and waffles are a thing. So, I decided to try.
I seasoned with breadcrumbs (relatively spicy) and whipped the chicken. Then I put it in the deep fryer for about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, I put the first waffle in the iron.
All said and done, I had 2 waffles and 6 spicy fried chicken thighs. I tried the chicken as a sort of test. Yes... cute. I think the spices of the chicken complement the sweetness of the waffles well.
