Funeral question
-
This may be a bit silly, but I was recently watching The Babysitter’s Club, where one of the character’s Japanese grandmother died. The family announced that they were following the Buddhist rituals dublin, so no visitors would be allowed until the funeral. They did not say which specific school of Buddhism they followed.
Is there a religious significance to prohibiting visitors? I had never heard of this custom in Buddhism, and Google isn’t helping.
I appreciate anyone taking the time to educate me.
