If you are a history buff, Philadelphia is a wonderful weekend getaways from nyc. Stop by the Reading Terminal Market, the oldest public market, and grab a bite to eat. Their Pennsylvania Dutch pretzels are legendary as is the ice-cream at Bassetts.
