-
Single malts made elsewhere have their own unique characteristics and manufacturing procedures. As a result of the founders’ exposure to Scotch-style bourbon, Japanese single malts are on par with their Scottish counterparts. Single malts, which are considered to be more polished than the country’s more popular blended whiskeys, are often offered by Single malt Irish whisky producers. Some of the artisan distilleries in the United States and Canada are experimenting with grain apart from barley and other ways to give their whiskeys a distinctive flavor, and the results are rather stunning.
