They go just by filename, I think. So if you want them grouped by season and episode, the filename needs to start with SxxEyy where xx is season number and yy is episode number.

Wow! I am sure happy that I decided to upgrade for only one month to see if premium would work for me before buying a longer term subscription. LIke many others on this 7 month old thread, we upgraded to get playlists. Where is that feature?

I don't mind if I have to build them on the computer. I just want to pay back several episodes of a show without having to start each one, and without having to remember where I left off.

Just a note to state that I observe this same behavior in my setup as well. The videos are stored on a Windows 7 (64-bit) PC. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0. The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 running Android 4.4.4.

For me I'm not too worried about the extra "resources" on the other device. I'm more interested in the security issues. If the app wasn't already running on that other device, how is it that VideoStream was able to launch it?

Have you opened the proper ports through your firewall on the PC?

Incoming TCP ports 5556, 5558 must be open.

@zero66 : That's the way it is supposed to work. The app needs to be running on the PC for the phone to communicate with it.

Find the app in the google play store. The release log is part of the app description.

I have a TV Series where each episode is named with SxxEyy where xx is the season number and yy is the episode number. Videostream does a great job understanding this and organizes episodes within seasons. (In the Android client.)

However, some episodes are 2-parters (to be continued!)..... I've got these episodes named like this: SxxEyyPzz where zz is the part number. Here are examples:

Married...WithChildren-S02E02P1-PoppysByTheTree.mp4
Married...WithChildren-S02E03P2-PoppysByTheTree.mp4

VideoStream doesn't understand this part 1/part 2 notation, and leaves these episodes out of the handy organization scheme.

What is the proper notation for annotating multi-part episodes?
